Worser Bay Life Saving Club is a family orientated club. We welcome all ages, there's something for everyone from sea swimming, board training, surf competitions, to completing lifeguard training, joining a patrol and becoming further qualified in IRB or first aid. The club has excellent facilities, a great social atmosphere with barbecues and social afternoons. We look forward to welcoming you and your family to our club!

In December 1910 at a public meeting in Seatoun it was discussed whether there was a possibility of establishing a swimming and life saving club at Worser Bay.
The following day, the Evening Post reported “As a result of a large meeting at Wyatt’s Hall Seatoun last evening, a new swimming club - the Worser Bay Swimming and Life Saving Club was formed. Mr John Brodie, the Mayor of Miramar presided over the gathering and expressed pleasure and enthusiasm displayed in forming the club, and he declared that it was absolutely essential that a life saving club should exist in a borough with a waterfront as extensive as Miramar.”
As a result Worser Bay took its place in history as the 3rd life saving club to have been established in New Zealand. Words by Terry Christie.
Become a Lifeguard
We as a club are always looking for people of all ages (including parents of Nippers!) interested in gaining their Surf Lifeguard Award. Lifeguards provide a valuable service to our club and community.
